Spot Remote

SpotRemote: A Spotify remote for iPhone

I’m a regular user of Apple’s iTunes Remote application for iPhone. It lets me listen to my music upstairs while controlling my iTunes downstairs (I have speakers upstairs wired to the downstairs media center).

Now that I’m subscribing to Spotify and using it more as my primary media app, I’ve begun using SpotRemote. It’s essentially an iPhone and iPad-based app to let you control Spotify remotely with your mobile device. It’s $2.99 at the app store and seems to work well. You do need to download the SpotRemote server software from their website.

Some in Seattle are worried about drones or automatic license plate recognition, but the real danger may be lying at Hales’ Ales Brewery in Fre-lard.

How to Find Trial Downloads of Legacy Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suite Software

This link is also hard to find but you may need it if you’ve reinstalled OS X or bought a new Mac. Here is the link to Adobe’s legacy download page for old versions of Photoshop and Creative Suite. You’ll still require your activation keys. Note, this is an Adobe powered site.

Primal Pacs: Just Sick and Wrong

These primal pacs are disgusting. This is a product that might benefit from using opaque packaging materials.

Just plain disgusting.

IKEA Standing Desk for $109

Build a standing desk for $109 using IKEA parts.

Build a standing desk for $109 using IKEA parts.

Inspired by Lifehacker’s Standing Desk’s on the Cheap, I put together this IKEA standing desk solution for $109. It took me about an hour to assemble. In the picture, I’m using a Goldtouch Go Travel Keyboard but I’ve switched to the Kinesis Freestyle Solo (learn more).

Two of the Vika Kaj legs broke when I tried to install them – the adjustment mechanisms are very poor. I had to make another trip to the not-so-local IKEA to replace them. Alternatively, consider: Utby Underframe $89.99 (though it seems like it’s been taken off their website – from this). IKEA also has some other adjustable legs such as the Gallant A-Leg. All of these adjust to 35 3/8″ officially – but I was able to get my Kaj legs to go a few inches higher. The Gallant T-Leg for example only adjusts to 32″.

Mad Love – Meghan Currie on the Beach

I’m not usually a fan of these kinds of videos because I don’t believe in over-emphasizing the physicality of yoga achievable only by few, but I think this one is well done. Meghan Currie via Elephant Journal. Her drop back to wheel to chaturanga is out of control. That’s definitely one of the prettiest yoga studios I’ve seen in a while.
