Update: Both homes sold within a week. One that I know of sold for $105,000 over its listing price.

The Seattle home market is raging out of control. I went away for three days this past weekend and returned to find a second home for sale across the street from my house, but this one had sold before I even knew it was for sale.

Zillow reports the home actually took five days to sell but they probably couldn’t get the sign up in time for me to see it.

two-for-sale-signsThese houses are literally across the street from me on opposing blocks. My other neighbors are having to be more patient as their house has been listed five days without a sale (so far).

And, it’s not that people don’t want to live near me anymore (at least I don’t think). Home prices around Seattle have risen nearly 20 percent in the past year. Inventory, is about half what it used to be — and this is driving these quick sales.
