Jeff Reifman is a technology consultant and writer with a wide variety of nonprofit and corporate leadership experience.
Here are a some of his recent projects:
- The Herbfarm’s Meals for Hospitals, we’ve raised more than $140,000 from GoFundMe and Patreon to deliver high quality, locally sourced meals to COVID-19 medical teams.
- Portland Wild, a visual guide to Portland, Oregon’s hundreds of public art murals, special Heritage Trees and Little Free Libraries.
- Black Women in Politics, a database of black women running for office in 2018. We’re still in conversations for 2020 planning.
- Meeting Planner, which aims to simplify scheduling social and group meetings.
Previously, Jeff helped lead the technology launch of MSN News and MSNBC.com as part of an eight year career at Microsoft. He left Microsoft to found GiftSpot, later acquired by GiftCertificates.com. He’s a three time grantee of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. He’s known in Seattle for his earlier not for profit coffeehouses and coverage of Microsoft’s hypocritical tax dodging and Amazon’s overwhelming impacts.
In 2009, he led the capture of missing writer Evan Ratliff in Wired magazine’s Vanish contest. He’s also been a regular contributor to Envato TutsPlus. In 2012, he co-led Initiative 103 which sought to create a bill of rights for Seattle, including rights for nature and the now, nearly extinct resident orcas. He’s a co-op investor and support of Fair Trade Equal Exchange.
He is an avid snowboarder, photographer and traveler. He has more than 600 hours of yoga teacher training and previously volunteered teaching teens in substance recovery with Street Yoga, now closed. He resides in the Pacific Northwest.
